Here is an experiment where i type f in JDTUtils.getFakeCompilationUnit and wait for completion list.

Here is the profiling data. SnippetCompletionProposal will take approximately 70% CPU time of the completion handler.

Open this issue to explore the possibility to optimize snippet completion performance.
