Possible DPRK horizontal extension #55
Comments
The above 299 characters have been included in 2011KPS, but there are no KP ref. in Unihan. |
This is highly problematic and completely non-actionable by the UTC or WG2, because DPRK must prepare and submit such a horizontal extension. No one outside of DPRK has ever seen an actual KPS standard, and IU have reached out to them repeatedly for this, doing so twice this year alone. Using an implementation, such as fonts bundled with DPRK's Red Star OS, as a means to verify the standard is not considered acceptable. Still, there's no harm at listing these mappings, which is useful as a record. The point of the above paragraph is to set expectations about what action can be taken, which is pretty much none. |
@kenlunde I see. I have no plan to submit any document on the DPRK's horizontal extension, so I just say it's "possible". ;-) |
I will continue to reach out to DPRK. As relations with other countries improves, they may become more open about sharing their standards. |
