Describe the feature:

If I open a link via markdown visualization, I have the option to open the link in a new tab.
I want to be able to have the option if the current time window should be added to the new tab or not.

Describe a specific use case for the feature:
I have a dashboard with following markdown navigation panel:
image

I want to jump between different dashboards to analyse different aspects of an issue. Therefore I need to keep selected time period and filters of the current dashboard.
For better comparison I would like to work within more than one tab.

It works fine if I open in the same tab, but if I open a new tab timestamp and (pinned) filters are lost.

Would be nice to have the option to automatically add filters and time window to the opened url.

I'll close this as a standalone issue, and refer to the drilldown meta issue here: #12560

This is the long term goal of enabling navigating between dashboards form a user perspective, that will eventually also add the proper APIs to achieve what's described in this issue.

Thank you for drilldowns! Unfortunately, it does not capture the full use case of this ER, so we need to reopen this issue.

For example, if the user is pinning arbitrary filters on data not represented in any visualization on any dashboard, it would be really nice if clicking a dashboard link from a markdown widget would preserve pinned filters and carry them over to the URL target. This would free the user from having to create a visualization for every field, known or unknown, required to use drilldowns.

Closing this in favour of #154381. I have added a comment to that issue that mentions the state transfer should also apply when opening the link in a new tab.
