Using the protonmail bridge to work with the mail client, I get the following error

Unable to validate:

  • SMTP connection error.

I have entered the exact settings used from the bridge connection details, which works with Thunderbird. However the elementaryos mail client won't connect.

How did you get bridge? The site says it isn't released for Linux yet. I use protonmail too and would love to test this as well.

Hi, you can download it here

https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/86mlr5/bridge_for_linux_beta/

You need to get a paid version of protonmail to be able to use it.

Hi just want to add, that with the last Protonmail Bridge Beta v1.0.4. I had this issue too (Loki 0.4.1). But I was able to added my Protonmail accounts from the Online Account panel in System Settings, I didn't have the SMTP error from there. Unfortunately even if my accounts show up in Mail it didn't download any emails or folders so I'm still stuck.

I also found this recent post on reddit about the same issue in Geary 0.12.1 that can probably help : https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/89ypkf/protonmail_bridge_geary_0121_not_working/
