After some proof of concept work during CodeCabin 2024 I showed a more modular version of The Dashboard. The idea is transmission into a "dashboard facilitator" with some simple "out of the box" widget to show but to allow for other packages and site implementors to extend the package.

This development effort will target the new backoffice aka Bellissima.

Here are some of the ideas/features that have been raised:

• The new dashboard is built up using independent "widgets"
• The package should ship with a limited (and manageable) set of default widgets, but allow for any package developer or site implementor to extend with new types of widgets
• Each widget should support "settings" (could be filters etc)
• Some sort of mechanism for "global settings" should be in place so that a widget could contain global information that individual users cannot change. E.g. a "Support contact" widget that is managed by administrators.
• The dashboard configuration (placement, size, etc) should be stored on a User-level
• Site implementors should be able to provide a "default" configuration that will be used until the individual user make any adjustments.
• We need a custom table (or some other mechanism) to store the user-level configuration.

I want to start by collecting ideas and feedback and, at the same time also try to keep the scope in a manageable size. The initial scope will not cover any new type of widgets. I'm looking for ideas/feedback on the setup and over all structure.
