Prerequisites

  • I have read the Contributing Guidelines.
  • I have searched for existing feature requests or ideas discussions to avoid duplicates.
  • I've requested a one and only one feature/change in this issue. I have not requested different features at once.
  • My issue is well-defined and describes how it should be implemented from UI/UX perspective.

What do you want to be added or improved?

Import by CSV format.
In current CSV import type, there is only one coloumn is selectable when to import Quantity, it doesn't fulfil the requirements as in that certain app, there are two columns, one for Income, another for expenses.

Why do you need it?

To continue or extend the management of my expense.
Maybe provide a guide, how to import or make a separate feature to import from that app, or more than one column to be selectable when to import.

How do you imagine it?

A feature to import from MyExpenses, as manual import won't work for me.

Hi! Thanks for trying the app and for your suggestion. I'm sorry to hear that you can not import your transactions from your previous app.

Manual data import via CSV is not very well developed yet and can be greatly improved. For now, I think that for your purpose we could add the option to indicate whether we have an extra column to indicate whether we are dealing with an income or an expense. The now discontinued Ivy Wallet does something similar, as seen in this screenshot:

I'm not sure what the export format is for the app you're talking about. If you could send me a simple CSV with a couple of income and expenses so I can see them, that would be great 😃

Perhaps in the meantime you could parse the CSV to fit Monekin's requirements and leave all the amounts in a single column. You can do this easily with some Excel knowledge.
