It would be nice to reject <!-- ... -->, especially as we are removing it from the template: ethereum/EIPs#2939

Yes, this is a good idea. I will prioritize this.

There are actually ~6 EIPs which have comments:

  • One comments out the Test Case section and says "test cases are not relevant here"
  • One comments out some pending things
  • Others add some table of contents instruction
