Thanks for the suggestion @waldyrious. We did look at that originally, but found that, particularly for more obscure politicians we were getting many more false negatives than false positives, especially where someone's official name (e.g. that listed on a parliamentary website) is different from how they're commonly known.
I feared that would be the case. As a workaround, could perhaps the politician's party be added to the search query? I found that to be helpful when I had to resort to Google search.
