What we're after:
As part of our work to migrate pages off of transition, we need to create new templates for office pages. Presently, they are inconsistent and focus on individual heads of the agency and less about the functionality and role/responsibility and how it supports our mission.

We need to bring consistency to these pages and restructure them so they are agency-centric and not individual-centric. This may also require a change to our organization chart.

Considerations:

  • Document other agency organization charts and use cases
  • Document any technical constraints/considerations as part of the future implementation

Action items:

  • Mock up office pages
  • Provide to offices for a comment period with a request for specific feedback
  • Open followup implementation ticket to build the template

Completion criteria:

  • Office pages are redesigned and approved for use

Office pages are currently broken out by individual leaders/offices/sub-offices. Most offices have individual pages based on the individual in charge of that office.

Offices with individual pages (on transition):

  • General Counsel (lists and links to senior staff)
  • General Counsel - Administration
  • General Counsel - Law
  • General Counsel - Enforcement
  • General Counsel - Litigation
  • General Counsel - Policy
  • Staff Director (lists front office staff)
  • Staff Director - Management and Administration
  • Staff Director - Chief Compliance Officer
  • Staff Director - Chief Communications Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer (lists and links to sub-offices)
  • Chief Financial Officer - Budget
  • Chief Financial Officer - Finance
  • Chief Financial Officer - Procurement and Contracting (includes link to document search)
  • Chief Information Officer (includes link to IT strategic plan and lists sub-offices but does not link to them)

Offices that link to separate wagtail pages:

  • Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Inspector General (same page as Deputy IG)
  • Deputy Inspector General (same page as IG)

Offices without any page:

  • Chief Information Officer - Enterprise Architecture
  • Chief Information Officer - Operational Support
  • Chief Information Officer - Database Management
  • Chief Information Officer - Information Security

@patphongs @AmyKort The following is my initial draft of a mockup for the office pages. I've combined each individual person into a single page for each "primary" office. This way all related staff/office information is grouped together. This seems to account for most instances and really is more like a lift and shift into the new style. From the main organization chart we can link to anchor links for each office/person. Please let me know your initial thoughts.

Some additional considerations:

  • Do we want to repeat information for offices like EEO and IG and create new pages that fit this new style or continue to link to them as we do now? Both of those offices have existing pages that our customers can refer to.
  • Only one page lists front office staff.
  • One page lists and links other offices by individual director and another lists and links to other "sub-office" pages and not by director. My mockup addresses that by including them all on one page.

@patphongs @AmyKort All draft office pages for review. If these look good to you, I can send them along for review. The Public Disclosure and Media Relations one was the trickiest.
