Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I would like to filter point data by area. eg. a "City-name" or "district-name". Though in this case: The field "city-name" is not available in the specific dataset. So I can´t filter accordingly.
Describe the solution you'd like
Filtering datasets by polygons from another dataset would solve the problem of missing fields in other layers. I would like to be able to filter Point data (eg Bus-stops) from one layer that fall within the bounderies of a polygon from another layer (eg. Cities). This would enable to filter point data by location without having to provide the explicit field (city name) in the point layer (bus-stops). Thus I could use a polygon layer (eg. city bounderies) to filter any other layer without having to add the explicit field to the point layers (bus-stops).
Describe alternatives you've considered
