ISBAT drag-and-drop images to reorder gallery blocks #767
Comments
I think this may only be useful in the Stacked/Masonry blocks, as the Carousel doesn't show all the images at the same time. 🤔 |
We may not be able to drag and drop on the Carousel gallery but we could probably use those arrows to move images around. I think the Media Library modal might be an easier way to order images for that block though. Not saying we have to add it but we might want to try. |
I did try it, but the experience of clicking a left/right arrow to move the image, then having that image move out of view, made it kinda rough. If you wanted to move an image a couple of slides over, you'd need to hit the arrow, then change the slide, then hit the arrow. |
I say we close this until it's relevant in core. |
Works for me. |
Is this enhancement related to a problem? Please describe.
When adding new images to a gallery, the images are added to the end of the gallery. If I wanted to move the image to the front of the list it would require me having to move the the images one at a time to make room at the front of the list of images.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to be able to drag-and-drop images to reorder Gallery Blocks. This should apply to Masonry Block and possibly also apply to Carousel and Stacked Blocks.
Describe alternatives you've considered
The alternative to drag-and-drop is the process of manually moving image places one at at time as described above. One could also re-create the gallery but that is likely to be time consuming if captions have been set.
