I realize v7.1.6 is old, but since the check-for-update code rarely returns (and will rarely return) 'true', wanted to document this behavior for new release test cycles.
Youtube videos that I had paused, in tabs that had been open for months, all started playing simultaneously once the recent release was posted - and would continue to unpause every few hours (presumably on each update check). (rather annoying in the wee hours of the morning :) An option to disable update checks (not in 7.1.6) would have been useful.
