How to get treesitter grammar for kitty working?

I try to get the treesitter grammar for the configuration of the kitty terminal working. This is my config:

name = "kitty"
scope = "text.kitty"
file-types = [{glob = "kitty/*.conf"}]

[[grammar]]
name = "kitty"
source = {git="https://github.com/clo4/tree-sitter-kitty-conf", rev="9cdf551522d509c0432f136eb373bdf2e6032493"}

The config file is correctly identified but the treesitter grammar isn't applied. I fetched and built all grammars without errors.
hx --health kitty reports no treesitter grammar.

Configured language servers: None
Configured debug adapter: None
Configured formatter: None
Tree-sitter parser: None
Highlight queries: ✘
Textobject queries: ✘
Indent queries: ✘

Has anybody an idea what I'm doing wrong?

And what are the requirements for adding stuff to the upstream languages.toml? If I get this working I could make a PR if such niche-languages are accepted

To be totally honest I entirely forgot this was still public - glad to see you're getting use out of it! From what I remember this repo was left in a pretty unfinished state, so (not promises) I'll see if I can get around to updating it :) At the moment I'm pretty tied up with a different project, so once I get it to a better state I'll reassess.

To get the parser working you'll need to run hx -g fetch and hx -g build to fetch and compile the parser. You will also need highlight queries in ~/.config/helix/runtime/queries/kitty/highlights.scm (or $HELIX_RUNTIME/queries/kitty/highlights.scm if $HELIX_RUNTIME is set)
