Currently the engine is a bit of a mash up of the client and the relay, a clear boundary between them is not visible. Certainly a client should not be running handlers to relay messages aside from receiving responses to its dispatches.

Thus, a breakdown of the parts involved and how they currently are, and/or how they should really be. With a block diagram, probably.
