Pre-populate live search box with manually curated content

We'd like to display the live search box right when the search field is selected (before typing) and have it pre-populated with manually curated content. Once the user starts typing, the results will change to live search results.

Here's an example site for the starting state of the form, although that site doesn't update the quick links as the user types.

I really like this idea and will think about how to implement some sort of 'placeholder' content (in the results template or otherwise) that could work here!
