I don't know if this is an issue or a feature.

When i'm pausing/stopping the charging from the car, the available charge current is reduced to 6 A.
The “Set Current” are not changed but remain as set before. When I then start to charge again, the available charge current remains at 6 A, and the “State” remain at state 8. If I change the “Set Current” to a new value, this new value will be available to the car. And the “State” changes to state 1 and starts to charge as normal.
I have also tested to disconnect the charger cable form the car, when the TWC only offer 6A and are stuck in state 8. When I reconnect the charger cable, the car gets the available current set by “Set Current” and starts to charge as normal.

Hi, I'd definitely say this is a bug. I think a real wall connector does something like when it detects a particular state (or a few states) it bumps the set current quite high (16A for 3 phase, 21A for single phase) but I've seen anyone work out with a high level of confidence what each of the state values represent (i'd be happy to be given information otherwise though!).

In my own use, I have Home Assistant updating the set current value from my Solar readings so when it starts up at 6A, it will quickly change to the correct value next time my solar output changes. It's not really a "fix" but it's why i've never fixed it.

Let me see if I can figure out how TWCManager handles this situation.
