WPB2D very slow backup #166
Comments
Was this on-demand or scheduled? I never noticed this slowness until I tried an on-demand backup and it is now in day 3. Actually I gave up just now assuming that whatever bits got skipped are from plugins and would get reloaded by updating the plugin(s) anyway.... I should say that I updated the plugin in mid-backup due to my frustration and the latest version seems more informative as it proceeds. For example, it itemizes the MySQL tables that are being backed up, and instead of using a %complete it states the number of bits (files, that is) that have been backed up, which frankly is more useful. |
This was on-demand. The monitor also regularly shows a break in approx 5 minutes followed by the message "There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup." Using FTP to back it up goes way faster. Approx 30 minutes for the whole site including all files and db Update: A scheduled backup taken last night went fine in just about 30 mins. It may be that the problem only occur during on-demand backups. |
Exactly the symptoms I have. I assume you are using the latest version of the plugin? I can't really offer any technical assistance, just sympathy I am afraid. |
Yep latest version of the plugin. |
Hi. I just installed the WPB2D plugin and started backing up a couple of websites. It seems to work really really slowly though. It's been backing up a small wp- site for 2 and a half hours and still its not finnsihed. Same problem when I tried backing up a different website yesterday. Is this normal ? Thx.
Robert
