- adds all boilerplate needed to do cross platform releases : closes Please provide an AppImage for download on GitHub Releases #32 closes Setup all the basics needed for binary releases for all main platforms #40
- adds basic notification system to detect & inform of new releases : after some testing this is simpler and more efficient for now than auto updates : closes Look into auto-update #24
