I'm hoping you can provide some insight on what I'm missing, if I request a temperature, sometimes it'll set the cool to temperature, sometimes it'll set the heat to temperature, and there doesn't seem to be any specific reason why it chooses whatever it does.
Of course I know that concept to be ridiculous, computers do what they're told, so I'm apparently telling it incorrectly, how do you specify a high or low temperature?

I'll give you an example, if my range is currently heat to 67 and cool to 72, and I tell it to set the temperature to lets say 80, it'll raise the cool temperature to 80 so it's at 67/80, which isn't ideal but I can work with it, but now if I set at 72, sometimes I'll go from 67/80 to 67/72 and other times it'll go to 72/80,
