Interested in extra_stacklevel feature from #69, and it's been over a year since last release

Created this issue in the same vein as #65

Did see bcebcf8 preparing for a v1.2.15 release, although worth considering v1.3.0 instead b/c of the feature add

Would also be interested in that feature. The docs already have it as if it were released which is quite misleading. Looks all development has stopped as of about a year ago, @tantale any chance for one more release?
