toctree in navbar?

I have a custom layout that makes use of the full width of the page (for displaying a rendered Jupyter Notebook in my docs). Unfortunately, this means I lose the navigation information, both globally and for the local page. Is there any way to move those up into a dropdown in the navbar for a particular layout? I looked through the docs and did not see anything related to this, but apologies if I missed something.
