This issue was opened by a bot after a user submitted feedback through the in-app form.

Message:

remove the screen recording permission necessity, when the "hide window thumbnails option" is active.

Ie. allow usage without screen recoring permission

The permission is necessary to get the window titles as well, not just the screenshots.

That being said, there is a ticket to discuss a degraded mode with only the app icons: #1082
