Fix for crash on first-run options.
Automatic update check (daily).
First stand-alone release for mac os.

Line merging and bug fixes

Supports selecting individual lines, with a "Merge Lines" option (mainly as a proof of concept for now). Fixed a number of bugs whilst working on it.
