Do you care or not that Downloadable products don't work?

Sorry for a duplicate but I'm out if ideas how else can I draw your attention to this issue:

The issue is: if you sell a real product with its e-copy for example, then customers won't get the latter. It basically doesn't work. In our case this is a blocker.

The linked issue pretends to fix the issue but there is no information where or how it has been fixed.
Two weeks ago I had a conversation with one of the operators of #magento2 channel on this matter, and he had advised me to ping the team for an update. So I did, and yet - no any progress.

Recently I've upgrade local Magento instance to 2.2 and just checked the issue and the bug is still there.

I beg you guys to update the linked issue and to include references to commits when you close of fix something. When you instead reference some internal-stuff-which-nobody-ever-sees - that doesn't make much sense.
