To represent gamma accuracy from games in SDR mode, please provide options in HDR mode so the user can adjust color/gamma intensity.

A great example to compare SDR and HDR modes are to launch Megaman X to the intro stage and observe the blue color on Megaman's suit. In HDR mode, the blue color around his suit appears ultra rich and deep which ruins the accuracy.

A color management unit is planned to be added at some point, but meanwhile you should ensure your display is in Rec709 mode instead of Rec2020 when using HDR with Pro.

I have an LG OLED C2, and I searched for the rec.709 color gamut, but I could not find that menu entry in the color gamut settings. So, I have set the color gamut to "Auto", which made the intended impact I'm looking for with color richness. It was previously on native. Unfortunately, since my menu entries for color gamut selection are labeled:

  • Auto
  • Native
  • Dynamic
  • Adobe RGB

I'm hoping that Auto == Rec.709.

I have HDR tone mapping set to HGiG, as well, which corrected HDR brightness problems.
SDR and HDR content look almost identical now aside from some color richness inaccuracies.

Do you have any knowledge into the "Auto" entry? I'm going to do some more research myself.

Auto should default to sRGB/Rec709 when there is no explicit indication of Rec2020 which sounds like it does on C2.

So from the two samples below:
Top image is SDR, and the bottom image is in HDR. You can see on his suit how the color itself is a bit richer and inaccuracies start to appear. Color Gamut is now on Auto.

You can see it's VERY close but color deepness is introduced.
