This was released a couple days after I posted a question about missing security patches mentioned in #4.

Note that this release is on marshmallow-mr2-release, whereas r77 was on marshmallow-mr3-release, so we are crossing branches here. This release is really only for the N6, but the Jan 2017 platform security patches have only been merged to mr2. hammerhead used to release off of mr2, but was moved to a separate branch just for hammerhead (mr3); I believe this was to slowly deprecate hammerhead and adjust its security patch level string by maintaining a separate branch of android_platform_build.

We need to be careful about the security patch string. hammerhead has been deprecated, so it receives no more patches in the binary drivers, forcing us to stay stuck on October 2016 as the patch level. We can still merge in platform patches though, but cannot technically update the patch level to Jan 2017 because the binary drivers are not patched.

Regarding security patch levels, I've added a doc to the wiki with clarifications on our policy: https://github.com/maruos/maruos/wiki/Security. The patch strings on Maru OS devices imply full updates for devices within their support period, but only platform updates for devices outside their support period. For hammerhead, this means we don't (cannot, more accurately) apply kernel patches or blob updates because upstream does not offer them anymore.
