Mate panel fails to load its enabled theme during the first few seconds after login. It appears as grey without panel icons before loading the theme. A video to explain it better - https://plus.google.com/+FayadFami/posts/ZffBUrt8ZKn

Mate panel is version 1.10.1+gfdl1-1 on Ubuntu Mate 15.10.

@flexiondotorg: can you please take a look at this? I can confirm this in Ubuntu 15.10, but not in other distros (Mint 17.x, LMDE 2, Debian Testing)... so it might be release-specific issue.

Confirmed in Ubuntu MATE 15.10 with MATE 1.10 and 1.12. In my limited testing only observed on machines with encrypted home partition.

I only tried it in a VM. Might be some race condition between loading components...

I remember trying to delay loading of panel and compiz by few seconds each seperately to see how one affects the other. It didn't show any difference.

I get this when I log out or shutdown. It also takes a really long time so my work around has just been doing sudo shutdown now in console. I am using full disk encryption is that matters. Ubuntu 15.10

Still an issue in 16.04 for me, no disk encryption here.

Guys - can you look at this please? Did this issue ever happen in your distros?
I suspect it might be Ubuntu-specific issue...

@monsta, happens here, in openSUSE.
It's caused by xrandr plugin in mate-settings-daemon having a higher priority than xsettings.
Sometimes for some reason xrandr can take a while to finish it's deed, so xsettings doesn't initiate at once => no theme.

I didn't get any reports about in the past, but i'm testing the gnome settings for the plugins since 2 months, here mostly every plugin use priority = 0.
Works good here.

Looks like that commit was mostly about moving these settings to another place (if you look at the full commit, https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/commit?id=7ed13d4).
