Newlines get stripped from plaintext messages going over the relaybot

This is my original message in Matrix (Python repr syntax, note the two newlines):

It's rendered in Matrix with an empty line in between, as expected.

And this is how it got forwarded to Telegram:

The newlines were removed, and corrupted the link.
