Idea: The Dai HODL Factory!

My mission: to make HODL a noun! The idea is simple- you pay 100 Dai to mint an NFT called a HODL. The Dai is converted to [cDai or rDai or Chai] and immediately starts earning you interest. Your Dai, and the accumulated interest is locked in the contract for at least a year. After a year, you can destroy the NFT and get the 100 Dai back, as well as the accumulated interest.

These HODLs would make great little gifts, prizes (such as hackathon prizes!) or collectibles, and would look great in any ERC721 wallet!

I propose that there are two different types of HODL that can be created. A regular HODL, and a Charity HODL, where you do not get the interest, instead the interest goes to a charity (i.e. using rDai).

Stretch goal: a 'ponzi HODL' where some of the interest on your HODL goes to owners of HODLs that were minted before yours. But you can still always get back your original 100 Dai- the world's first "no loss" ponzi!

With this project, you can finally hodl a HODL :)

Andrew Stanger[me]- backend. From UK- used to be a Chartered Accountant/Financial Analyst working in the City of London. I fell in love with Ethereum and decided to change career. I was in the November 2019 cohort of the Consensys Solidity Bootcamp. Currently working full time creating a new prediction market using NFTs, built on Augur (https://t.co/0IMQesNDzt). You are welcome to join regardless of your skillset if you like the idea, but we seek a graphic designer primarily :) I think one of most important parts of this project is making the NFTs look cool in people's wallets!
