Environment

Windows build number: 10.0.18363.900
PowerToys version: 0.19.0
PowerToy module "Run"

Steps to reproduce

Cant repro at will.

Press Space Bar launches Run

Expected behavior

Press Alt+Space launches Run

Actual behavior

Sometimes, Pressing space bar alone launches run and the only way to stop it is to kill powertoys.

We're doing a hotfix that includes a fix for #4578. This may resolve this. I haven't seen this style behavior. Are there particular apps in focus?

In focus apps could be: Visual Studio 2019, or Notepad++, or Notepad. If it happens again, I will notate this.

are those apps run under admin?

No they aren’t generally run as admin.

hi @michaelakin , few asks:

  • so your PT is not running as admin?
  • does this happen with another shortcut (not Alt-Space), have you tried?
  • are there any keys remapped using PT?
  • once it happens, you can't get rid of it until you kill PT, can you share any event logs when that becomes the case?

no

I havent tried many except for the one that shows hotkeys. Hold Win

  • are there any keys remapped using PT?

no

  • once it happens, you can't get rid of it until you kill PT, can you share any event logs when that becomes the case?

I will when it does this again for me. Where would I find the logs?

This bug was easily reproducible in 0.19.0 and should be fixed in 0.19.2. @michaelakin can you check if you are still facing this issue after updating?

I updated yesterday, but have not seen the problem appear again yet, and hopefully this is fixed.
