Windows Version

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22631.3007]

WSL Version

2.0.9.0

Are you using WSL 1 or WSL 2?

  • WSL 2
  • WSL 1

Kernel Version

5.15.133.1-1

Distro Version

Ubuntu 22.04

Other Software

Repro Steps

Open explorer.exe . to the WSL environment
Open Adobe Reader
Now here is where went wrong. I denied permission for Adobe Reader.
Now every time I want to access a PDF I get the error that Adobe has permissions.

Expected Behavior

The expected behavior is what I see here.

Actual Behavior

My issue is that I want to allow access and I cannot for the life of me figure out where to allow it. This might not be really a Bug but it would be nice if this could be somewhere in the documentation (if it is not just me being unable to find it).

Ok, sorry for the noise. After rubber ducking in this issue, I realized that none of the other Apps have this permission and it is most likely something specific to Adobe Reader, which it was. If someone else ever finds themselves looking for the solution here:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced security > Add Host > wsl.localhost
