General slowness when rendering decorations #202154

open the playground with this sample
select some text on the same line
(the selection highlighting feature kicks in and it will highlight other equal text in the file)
(this produces many decorations which need to be rendered)
(obs: when profiling, the rendering is smoother than when not profiling)
