There were previously a bit more documentation, but it looks like it got removed in #1234, possibly by mistake?

This also means that the project's MSRV is not documented anywhere (see also #894)

That documentation was quickly out of date and not easy to maintain so I removed it to avoid confusion. We have plans to work on documentation once a few more pieces fall into place.
