duplicate tracks in library #8185
Comments
Commented by: mk42 do you have your library symlinked somewhere else? I had this issue. You can check by looking for the file path in the preferences of the tracks (right click in library) |
Commented by: naught101 No, I checked that already, only one path in the library, and no links within that path. Anyway, the tracks have the exact same absolute path in the library part column. On 8 August 2015 12:51:38 am AEST, -MK- wrote:

Commented by: uklotzde I found another issue in the browse view that might cause duplicate tracks: After a TrackInfoObject has been created its location has to be used instead of the original file path. |
Commented by: uklotzde Should have been fixed in 2.1. File paths are now properly normalized to prevent duplicate tracks. Multiple tracks with exactly the same file location cannot be inserted into the library due to a database constraint. I would like to close this bug. |
Commented by: naught101 The track that I remember being duplicated is not in 2.3-alpha, so yeah you can close this as far as I'm concerned. |

I have duplicate tracks in my library, with identical data (including file name), but some of the tracks have no ratings, bpm or key.
I'm not sure when this happened, but this morning I closed mixxx and re-opened it, and it failed, complaining about a corrupt database. I then opened it again after a minute or so, and it worked. I then upgraded to the latest nightly.
I'd like to be able to merge the duplicates, or at least just remove all of the ones without mixxx-related metadata.
