When I run
python randomcut.py -v -n 10 -l 5 -x -d /home/test/480p pattern mp4
(master)
I get:

Verbose mode on
randomcut.py: ValueError('max() arg is an empty sequence')
for help use --help#

No matter which pattern I use. Thanks!

Soory about that. Try *.mp4 at the end this will work or ./**/*.mp4 for the pattern
