Enable js console output

Hey there. Out of curiosity, did you find a way to redirect the js console output to a file? I see there is a log folder for the plugin when it's installed, but didn't see anything to redirect the logs in a file there. Thanks!

It seems that there is something broken in the plugin logging in general.
Plugin does not produce any log files neither outputs anything to the journalctl.
I tried to find a way how to get logs when I debugged special character issue on steam deck, but failed.
It was easier and faster to write local Jest tests.

I think it may be a good idea to create an issue and dig in, since the working logging is always a must to have 😃.

Ok, thanks. I'll create the issue and take a look when I feel like it. I started looking at other plugins and also the official decky plugin template to understand a bit better how everything comes together. I have a small plugin idea and need to dig a bit more before starting haha

Found some answers by using the decky plugin template. There seem to be two logging levels:

• python level (not used in HLTB): can be tested in a main.py at the root of the project, and with the decky lib > decky.logger. This is the lib that can write logs in the homebrew/logs folder
• js level: this one was actually easier to find than I initially thought, you can actually open the Steam CEF debug console from the Decky settings > Developer > Open Console. This opens up the standard Chrome debugger in Steam. But it can be open from any other browser using the url on top of the page. And any console.log you put in your ts and tsx files will appear there
