Trying to get gaussian splatting on the nerfstudio main branch does not work unless installing gsplat from source. More info nerfstudio-project/nerfstudio#2685

I'm not sure if it has to do with #71

As per nerfstudio-project/nerfstudio#2748, this is likely an issue with PyTorch 2.0. The fix is to upgrade to 2.1.

Maybe we could catch the error and print a message that suggests upgrading PyTorch for users who run into this? Or do some symlinking behind the scenes; there's a lib directory in $CUDA_HOME that could be symlinked to lib64to fix the issue.

@brentyi could you instruct how to do symlink? I am unable to install gsplat and my torch version is '2.1.2+cu118'.

Thanks in advance.
