No icons for several feeds

I have several feeds that don't have an icon in the overview. I'm not sure if it's caused by icons from Atom not being loaded or something else.

Some of the feeds that don't have an icon, while their feeds to identify one:

• https://blog.mozilla.org/thunderbird/feed

At the same time, some feeds that don't identify an icon do have an icon in Nextcloud News:

• https://www.bitsoffreedom.nl/feed/
• https://blog.funkwhale.audio/@/funkwhale/atom.xml

Can I somehow force a re-check? Or do something else to make them appear?

The reason is that the attribute from the feed is not used by news, we currently only have support for the favicon.

I also don't get favicons displayed. i used freshrss before and there it worked for almost all my feeds

do you have to configure or install something special that this feature is enabled?

No we have two things implemented now.

1. taking the logo of the specific feed, it's an attribute if it exists it will be checked by the server for potential problems.
2. if there is no feed logo the favicon of the website is used but it seems like the library that we are using is not always successful in that

Not sure I guess you would need to dig into it.

With some release we reduced the error output regarding the favicon you could change the code in your setup again and then check the logs.

Or directly take a look at the library.

Hello,

I was thinking about trying the news app again after some time and I see that there are still many favicon missing.
Currently I use freshRSS with the same feeds and there the favicon are displayed.

On the web interface it is very difficult to see where the article comes from as this would only be possible via the icon.

if you are admin, workaround: go to the database table and edit the favicon field to whatever image URL you want, after discovery NC News won't care about it what you did there. (doesnt solve the issue that favicon discovery is broken and the inages should be downloaded at server, not by client at every visit)
