Spike: Slow PDF upload using UV

Summary

Nic reported uploading a 150 page PDF, using Universal Viewer, in the valkyrie staging site. It's been going for 5 hours and seems to be only halfway through. Should it be taking that long?

@ndroark i couldn't replicate this unfortunately. I'm not sure if it was just a one time thing and now it's passed or not, but think we can just keep an eye on abnormally slow PDF splitting in the future and then reopen this. How does that sound?

I don't know, I tried uploading the same 168 page pdf to the same staging repo (https://au-archives.palni-palci-staging.notch8.cloud/concern/generic_works/3003e287-c153-4163-b45e-c9afb0c5a951?locale=en) and four hours later it's still not processed to the point of showing images in the UV. Is the issue the staging server, Valkyrie, or that I have unrealistic expectations for how long a PDF should take to process through IIIF Print?

That's pretty weird, can I upload on your tenant? I tested on the demo tenant and it took around 44 mins.

Fascinating. I'm content to table it for now and see if users experience any issues once we cutover. It seems like we shouldn't expect them to.
