The
.npmrcfile contains preferences / configuration options. It would be nice to store this file in a personal dotfiles repository. However, it also contains secrets, npm tokens.A more appropriate place to manage npm tokens, would be the in the OS’s keyring. Previously the keytar package was a popular way to do this, but that project has been archives.
