Hello, I would like to report that the NPMJS login page is particularly scary and frustrating since there is no reminder that I shouldn't be entering an email address as the username.
My issue was caused by my password manager having saved the email address as the username during signup instead of saving the actual username field. Without a reminder that an email shouldn't have been entered, I frantically rushed to change the password on NPM thinking that I had been hacked somehow. Then even after the password change, I still couldn't log in...
This was the thing that finally jogged my memory of past battles with this enemy. These hackers always try to trick me by phishing their exploits as "user error" or PEBCAK when in actually I know it's just a small UX issue. I had been thwarted once again by my oldest nemesis: The world at large.
The issue might never affect me again but I hope that, one day, the time I spent typing this will be reclaimed by common folk everywhere.
Anyway, so the signup screen reminds you of of this very nicely:
Thanks!
