Add HH-MM time format on schedule, deadlines, etc

It could be better that the deadline, schedule, or done can be recorded not only on date, but also on "time".

Don't know whether this is a new idea. But I think it could help.

Are the maintainers open to the idea of making all date fields optionally datetime fields? If this is something that is supported and the maintainers don't think that it would require major refactoring of the codebase, I would like to have a go at implementing it.

I think it would open up a lot of possibilities for lots of requested features (duration, time tracking, calendar integration, etc) to be implemented by other plugins integrating with tasks.

Hi @claremacrae, are you still open to work on this? So far i'd pretty much only need to add a time to Done dates but this seems like an interesting challenge that could suit my need to get back into coding after a long break. I'm still rather Junior but if i can nonetheless give a hand i just as well might.

Ordinarily I would suggest that we pair on it, but currently I'm exceeding my available Tasks-development time by having multiple pairing strands open at the same time...

Unfortunately the above is still true, and I would prefer this not to be worked on right now. Sorry.

I am confused, does this mean that setting something like the following task with HH-MM in some format is not possible?

I am using the reminder plugin but it uses another format (@2025-01-17 10:30) it gets a bit confusing in the end.

Maybe the lack of support for more precise time is something to be mentioned in the extension description

@claremacrae, might it be wise to remove the word "yet" from "It is not yet possible to include times on task lines"?

I feel the statement, as currently phrased, gives users false hope that there is actually an intention to explore this functionality or accept related contributions at some point.

I appreciate the suggestions, but I really do work hard to word the documentation very carefully.

And there absolutely is an intention to add time support to dates, which is evidenced in:

1. the label priority: high on this issue
2. the word yet in the documentation
