Where can I download older versions of OpenDistro ODBC driver & see SQL Plugin & ODBC Driver compatibility matrix

Based on my ES version, I need to install 1.9.0.0 ODBC driver. But I'm finding only latest version available here. Where can I download previous versions of ODBC drivers for Mac?

Also, do these ODBC drivers are backward compatible with older versions of SQL Plugins installed on ES node?

Hi @sachinadiga, thanks for reaching out. We changed the naming scheme for our various artifacts at least twice, but the team neglected to rename older artifacts/add redirects so that you could just change the version string. I believe the file you want is here: d3g5vo6xdbdb9a.cloudfront.net/downloads/elasticsearch-clients/opendistro-sql-odbc/mac/ODFE+SQL+ODBC+Driver+64-bit-1.9.0.0-Darwin.pkg

No real idea about compatibility, unfortunately. I'd try to use the same version across the board for the plugin and the driver.

No worries, I'll test the backward compatibility and update here. Unfortunately in my case I've some other restrictions in upgrading the ES version and hence the OpenDistro SQL Plugin on server side.

Update: Installed 1.9.0.0 ODBC driver and configured DSN to ES cluster which was having 1.6.0.0 plugin installed, I was able to test the connectivity successfully through iODBC Admin UI unlike failed in 1.13. But tableau was not able to connect may be due to incompatibility.

@aetter do you mind giving me URLs to other versions of drivers >1.9 & <1.13. That would be really helpful to try out and overcome any bugs with very first version of ODBC went with tableau support - 1.9.

If those don't work, I think troubleshooting is going to be a struggle. My suspicion is that the team's recommendation will be "try it on the latest ODFE version with the matching SQL plugin." Still, best of luck!

Thanks a lot @aetter, it worked. I'm able to create connection with 1.10.1.1 driver & 1.6.0.0 Plugin and tableau is compatible with these configs.
