Since i uninstalled the outdated LibreOffice Viewer and installed the "LibreOffice & OpenOffice document reader " in version 3.10.4 i got lots of questions to open something with "LibreOffice & OpenOffice document reader":

  • Opening or creating a tasks with OpenTasks
  • Chat, Voice- and Video-Calls with Signal from the Contacts app
  • Chat, Voice- and Video-Calls with Telegram from the Contacts app
  • Opening apk file from the file manager
  • Maybe more that i forgot during the first days...

I always activated "always open with" with the correct app when i found such things as a workaround. But in the contacts app Signal and Telegram Contacts still have the "LibreOffice & OpenOffice document reader" icon rather the correc Signal and Telegram ones.

I am using the current LineageOS for microg Version lineage-17.1-20210816-microG-osprey (no other system stuff) and installed the app via f-droid. I have no other Libreoffice or Word viewer installed. Only MuPDF viewer for pdf and epub files.

Hi there,

I know, that can be very annoying. The problem is that this is the only way to catch all kinds of ODF documents being opened. The drawback is that we catch everything else too...

Anway, you are not the first to complain about this. There's a setting at the bottom of the screen if you open the app from your app launcher. It should say something like "This app registers to open all file types by default in order to support apps like "Samsung My Files". You may turn this feature off here if it causes problems for you."

Let me know if that helps.

Thank you very much for your help. Deactivating this fixes the Problem with the icons and now the correct ones are shown in the contacts. I assume this should fix the other problems too, but don't know how to revert the "always open with $appname".
