Step 1: Wind up development:

  • check for known bugs
  • notify devs to submit any remaining PRs
  • merge any outstanding PRs

Step 2: Conduct QA:

  • ask all core devs for QA sign off
  • check all JSON consensus tests pass with all valid configurations
  • sync to 100k
  • deploy netstats node
  • test invocation with each CLI option

Step 3: Conduct release:

  • merge beta branch to stable
  • merge master branch to beta
  • new tag for specific version (i.e. 1.0.2-stable) on HEAD of stable.
  • new tag for specific version (i.e. 1.1.0-beta) on HEAD of beta.
  • bump all package versions (i.e. to 1.2.0-unstable) in master.
  • prepare any binaries that are manual for both beta and stable
    • ppa
    • docker
    • homebrew

Step 4: Publicise release:

  • new release in github
  • set up all binary paths on website
  • set up all binary paths on wiki
  • set up all binary paths on install guides
  • set up all binary paths in one-line installer
  • bump website so it's tracking master (i.e. 1.2) progress
  • release wiki post
  • push out to social networks
  • close this issue & the 1.1 milestone
