Cloudshell portal full customization

We would like the ability to customize all menus and options. Specifically the areas circled in red..

We need the ability to remove options and menus that are not needed for certain groups of users.. internal vs external, novice vs expert.. etc etc

We know about this

but we want to take it a step further and even customization the menus that you get per device.

Hi @Daniel, thank you. In general we would like to allow more
customization to the CloudShell UI (while keeping it manageable of course).
More elaborate RBAC is on our roadmap, but not planned for the near
future.

You mentioned that you would like to define UI
rules for various user groups (internl/external, novice/expert). How many
different groups would you have? Would the users be categorized by an
administrator? I take it that customization in the domain level isn’t
sufficient for this, and what you’re asking for is actually adding more roles
to the system on top of the predefined ones and deciding what each role can see
and do. In today’s predefined roles, when a user isn’t supposed to be using a
menu item it is grayed out. Are you using the predefined system roles today
(e.g. for external users)?

With regards to device menus – in the next
release we’re adding the ability to customize for each device if you want it to
be remotely accessed (via QualiX). You can also define that only admins can
access it. This would allow some control of the device menu. Would this help?

Here are our answers to your questions.

3. I take it that customization in the domain level isn’t sufficient for this, and what you’re asking for is actually adding more roles to the system on top of the predefined ones and deciding what each role can see and do. (DD) Yep, you got it, domain level customization is not enough
4. In today’s predefined roles, when a user isn’t supposed to be using a menu item it is grayed out. Are you using the predefined system roles today (e.g. for external users)? ( DD) yes we are using those predefined roles, but we need more flexibility than that. We want users to see other people's reservations which external users can't, but we do want to limit ( grayed out) functionality

Hope it is clear by now, that we are trying to expand the use or your tool within our company but we do need to your help to make it more flexible. Hopefully your product team and roadmap will align to help us achieve our goals.

When deploying CloudShell as a tool with an embedded LMS (Learning Management System) via our instructions and Commands capability we will want to be able to limit many menu items based on roles of users.
