For some strange reason the images published are not containing the yum command. I'm not sure if it is a corrupt image or a bug in Dockerfile. Either way I don't have access to yum

OK I am closing this ticket but documented what I found if it helps anyone else. Essentially the image was switched from centos to ubuntu overnight and applied everywhere to old and new versions, which simply crashed any versions that depend on it. So I had to adjust my scripts to assume ubuntu and use its package manager.
I think this could have been easier if the upgrade of distribution happened in future versions instead of applying it retroactively
