Application crashed after getting memory warning

Hi PayPal Team,

We are facing memory issue in one of our application. So we have reviewed sample application provided by you and checked under instrument tool. We are using iPhone 5 to review the application.

Below is the scenario for getting the issue.

While going to "Payment" screen in application, after going to camera option then application continuously consuming memory.

For reference I had tested the application in instrument and also share the screenshot for the same please find the attached image.

Please let me know if you required any more information from my side to track above issue.

• In the above screenshot you selected to show "All Objects Created" in the Allocation Lifespan. Would you mind running another test with "Created & Still Living"?
• What device, OS version and library version are you using ?

A) Can you please list steps to reproduce the same behaviour?

Step 1. Click on “Buy a T-Shirt” and go to Payment screen.
Step 2. Click on “Camera” button then it open the camera view for scan card.
Step 3. Click on Cancel then camera view close.
Step 4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for six to eight times.

Note : On Camera View screen, application consume more memory when it holds for 10 to 15 minute steady and some time device’s flashlight is ON or OFF.
Average memory consume : 1 to 2 mb.
Max memory consume : 5 to 6 mb.

B) In the above screenshot you selected to show "All Objects Created" in the Allocation Lifespan. Would you mind running another test with "Created & Still Living"?

C) What device, OS version and library version are you using ?

Hi. We have spent time some time investigating the issue on both iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

• Memory consumption is expected to be relatively high because we are doing live image capturing and a lot of heavy processing to scan the card. But as you can see, although we allocate quite a lot of memory we also release it right away. Our memory consumption (Heap Allocation Live Byte count) is quite stable. (Note that iOS may or may not deallocate freed objects immediately; we have no way to control that.)
• You see the torch turning on or off because our algorithms are responding to changing ambient light conditions.
• We have tried to reproduce your crash by following the steps described several times. Even leaving the camera view open for 1 hour 17 minutes and interacting with the app from time to time did not lead to a crash.
• The crash report you have attached doesn't actually seem to be related to a low-memory situation. Unfortunately, it also does not provide us with any firm clues about what did actually happen :(

@ketanparekh, the above-reported crashing scenarios (re-opening the scanning view many times, or leaving the scanning view active for 15 minutes) are not likely to occur in actual use. While we would like to track down and eliminate all crashes associated with our SDK, and are happy to work with any developers to do so, the current situation doesn't seem to warrant any concern about shipping your app. Note that many, many apps have already shipped with this SDK.

Actually app is freeze when I open camera view more time to scan credit card. Is it happened with all app or there is s some issue in my app ?
