Current icon is temporal.

Here's an experiment:

Hmm, I like it but I'm not convinced of the box looking too much like a present. Maybe it could look more like a package?

I hope that don't make it look like some font packages manager.

Is it a problem that it looks like a present? Metaphors are never 100% accurate, especially for something as abstract as a webfont kit.

I can try making it a more generic package, but not sure that's any clearer in this case, and it'd probably be easier to confuse with other types of apps (package manager as you said, but also file compression or parcel tracking).

Not really, it just looked a bit strange for me the first time. But definitely is an improvement and I like the colors and shape.

But before we follow up with this metaphor, what if we use some "kit case" instead of the box? Something like this:

Gave the first aid kit thing a try:

Not sure the metaphor is any clearer than the package, but could work.

Thoughts @jimmac?

I really like how you executed it, but I much prefer the present box above.

I kinda prefer the aid kit because it feels more "utility" related than the present, but at this point both icons are beautiful, so I will trust you the designers, feel free to send a PR with the one you think is better.

Here's another completely different metaphor suggested by someone on Mastodon:

In terms of metaphor I like it, but as an actual icon I'm not sure it's better than the others, it's a bit boring visually (That said, maybe visually boring makes sense for an app that converts font files :D).

Yeah, I also like it, and this metaphor explains better what the app does, although the ultra-generic name will clear any doubt. Also agree that it's a bit boring, but yeah, the app itself is boring :P

Now I'm in a dilemma, I really like the aid kit or present box in the sense of singularity, but this one represents better the app functionality. Maybe is better for this kind of apps to don't have a singular app identity? I don't know.

So I will pick the easy path and trust you on whatever you think works better :P

Personally I think all three could work, but since @jimmac has has a strong preference for the box I'd go with that.
