God be praised, thank you as smithy is being quite a joy to work with now. However while implementing websockets, the way that my program is currently refreshing with incoming messages is by calling .click() on a div with an on_click handler and it seems there would be a more appropriate way. Trying to find something in the docs or examples and wasn't able to find it sorry. Thanks for your help, blessings unto Jesus in His name

Right now, there isn't really a good way to incorporate custom events like that. I want a future version of Smithy to support custom events, but unfortunately it's not something I'm actively working on now.
I think that triggering a click on a div is an appropriate workaround for the time being.
Good luck with your Smithy website! Please let me know if you run into other issues, I'd love to know what usability or other issues you run into.
EDIT: Oh, and I apologize about taking so long to notice this!
